Downtown Gilbert, AZ *New! “The Brass Tap” Craft Beer Bar

For those of you in my area, have you been to downtown Gilbert lately?  I can’t believe how it has changed and all the restaurant/bars that have popped up!  It is so fun and there are SO many choices now.  Most have great menus, good happy hours, awesome ambience and friendly staff.  Check out The Brass Tap’s website to see all the specials and fun activities they have going on all week long.

MY OVERALL RATING:   Food: 7   Ambience for a Sports Bar: 8   Service: 6   Value for your Money: 9

*Note: My rating isn’t strong because I feel there is room to grow and improve as can be expected with most New restaurants. The server was very nice but the service was slow.  She admitted that she had way too big of a station, short handed I guess.  When a restaurant is new it is especially important to over staff to ensure a good first impression so people come back.  Don’t you agree?

In a few month I will go back and review again.  If you go to The Brass Tap please let me know how your experience goes.  I think you will love the atmosphere.  Try the Pretzel Bites!

Pretzel Bites $8.5.  We loved the presentation and the Sauces; Beer Cheese and Mustard Sauce. We favored the Beer Cheese Sauce.

We loved how the Pretzel Bites were in Pieces and they were a tad crispy on the outside and soft on the inside.  There was Butter on the edges which really added to how wonderful these were.  We agreed these were the best Pretzel Bites we’d ever had.  I highly recommend them if you go there.

Here’s the Buttery Outside.  SO good!

Homemade Tater Tots $8.0. They were also one of the best ones I’ve had, however nothing can compare to Chef Greg Colline at Brackett’s Crossing Country Club in Lakeville, MN. He makes the BEST Cheesy Deep Fried Tater Tots ever!!! (just had to give a shout out)…but these were good too.  They would’ve been even better with Cheese in them, none-the-less very good and I would order them again.

Chicken Tenders $6.50 Football Special *see menu below.  They had a Tempura Batter that could be very good but it wasn’t Crispy enough. I think once it’s perfected it could be very good.  They offer you a choice of Dipping Sauce.  They automatically put the Sauce all over the Chicken so ask for it on the side….mine had the Sauce poured all over it and it was soggy.

Caprese Flatbread $8. Mozzarella, Tomatoes, Pesto, Garlic, Parmesan and Balsamic Glaze.  Good Crust, nice flavor, could’ve had a bit more Balsamic and a sprinkle of Kosher Salt.IMG_2015

Regular Menu

Football Menu available during all games.

Bloody Mary $5 (during Football games) and of course a “Midwest” Beer Chaser. No one ever knows what I’m talking about but in the Midwest (Minnesota and Wisconsin) we must have a Beer Chaser with our Bloody Mary.

Extensive Beer list.

Nice atmosphere.  Nice size and not too loud on a Sunday.  Garage Doors open to the outside, liked the open air concept which is popular in Arizona.  Good amount of TV’s.

Sandy and Randy were in town!

Cheers to us!

Happy Eating!
