I love this place!!! While visiting Minnesota on July 16, 2018 my friend’s Deb, Dave and their daughter Natalie and I had dinner at Birch’s on Long Lake. I couldn’t believe how big this place was! It was my first time here. There is a large fancier restaurant upstairs which is the Supper Club and then the Brew Pub downstairs and then this fabulous, Outdoor Patio just outside of the pub. I would love to try out each nook and cranny as they all have different vibes and different menus. How fun is this place! Next time, maybe in the wintertime, I will sit upstairs in the fine-dining area (the supper club). It looked so beautiful and comfy and It comes highly recommended.
This is one of the nicest and most diverse patio menus I have ever seen. I wanted to try so many things on this menu. I was impressed that they had Oysters, Mussels, Jumbo Shrimp and a Meat and/or Fish Board. Gosh, if I lived here I would come here all the time just to try everything. We had a wonderful server named Liz but she opted out of the photo. She was very attentive, knowledgeable and super fun.
Fabulous Bang Island Mussels with Chorizo that is steamed in a Sour, Blood Orange Broth with Herb Butter, Tomatoes and Herbs. Just fabulous and requires a spoon to drink up all the broth. This was unique and very flavorful. Nice portion, only $18. I would go back for this.
Chilled Jumbo Shrimp, aren’t they beautiful? Served with Horsey Sauce and Cocktail Sauce. $22
Fresh Oysters – they had different types to choose from. I think they were $2 a piece but I’m not certain. It was nice because you can order 1, 2, 3 etc….I had 2.
This was a Beer Cheese Soup with Saffron (heavy Saffron). Deb said it was very rich with flavor but didn’t really taste like the traditional Beer Cheese Soup we are accustomed to. Very good none-the-less.
Reuben-Cuban, packed with housemade Corned Beef and topped with Bacon Sauerkraut, Spicy Pickles, Mustard, Thousand Island and Melted Swiss Cheese, $15 served with really good House Fries and Coleslaw. Dave said it had great flavor and the Corned Beef was plentiful.
View of Long Lake just over my shoulder at our table. Very peaceful and just plain beautiful!
I highly recommend Birch’s on Long Lake, MN. Check out their website, they have a lot going on there…music, piano bar…HH specials etc. Great for date night too!
