Brandi, our amazing server at Dangerfield’s in Shakopee, MN. It’s hard to find servers that really, genuinely like their jobs and Brandi went out of her way to make us feel welcome. She went that extra mile to talk with us and we learned a little bit about her too! I found out she loves to bake and does some amazing things with Cheesecake bites and people are asking her to make them all the time. They must be pretty good. Who knows, maybe she will have her own business one day. Crossing our fingers! All I can say, is that Dangerfield’s is very lucky to have her.
MY OVERALL RATING: 9+

My parents and I dined at Dangerfield’s on July 18, 2018 during my visit to Minnesota. My Dad and Mom picked it out because it is one of their favorites and we wanted something nice with great food we could count on…as the story goes…it was truly a wonderful experience!
So who doesn’t love a warm Popover with Honey Butter brought to your table shortly after being seated?! It is a rare treat when you come upon a place that serves this in lieu of Bread…but having complimentary Popovers sparks a memory that I must share with you. I used to work at a place, my first job in fact, I was 18. It was called “Hark to Bounty”. It was in Ridgedale Center, across from Ridgedale Mall, in Minnesota (the old Highway 12). Anyway, one of my bad memories, and mind you, it was my first job, no experience whatsoever…but they served warm Popovers and we would run low often while they were making fresh ones. People became “crazed” when the Popovers were not at their table the minute they sat down. I remember this lady yelling at me, literally yelling at me over the Popovers and it made me cry. I could barely work after that. Now…if that were today, I would’ve reacted quite differently…part of the journey of life, and honesty...now... I would never let anyone make me cry over a Popover! EEGADS!
The menu is extensive and as I look at this picture you may not be able to read it, sorry about that, but it has just about everything on it. I love that they have so many entree choices and they are very reasonably priced. This fine-dining restaurant in itself is huge, large bar, looked like it had been remodeled since I had been there last, There was also a nice covered deck out front. The restaurant looks down at the Minnesota River. A little mucky but a river of water, non-the-less. The restaurant is clean and has a nice vibe.
Wave to my parents…Hi Donna, Hi Gordy! They treated me to this fine place!
House Chardonnay and my Dad loves a Bloody Mary with a Beer Chaser of course! It’a what we do in Minnesota! Good Bloody Mary, simple, tasty.
The Salmon was perfectly cooked and flaked apart as you can see. It was brushed with a Jack Daniels glaze and served with a Lemon Butter Sauce, what’s not to love. It was only $20 and came with a choice of Potato or Vegetable. The Cheesy Potato Casserole was to die for and I wish I had some of that right now.
My Mom had this huge plate of Chicken Parmigiana with Fettuccini Alfredo! Fresh Chicken Lightly Breaded and Baked with Marinara and Mozzarella Cheese. Holy cow! Who could eat two whole pieces of Chicken, but it was excellent. The Breadstick was a nice touch but wasn’t eaten after having those delicious Popovers beforehand. This whole meal was only $18!
Dad had the Salad Bar. All you can eat! $11! Yep you heard me right. He had French Onion Soup and Minnesota Wild Rice Soup, both a favorite. Pickled Herring was fabulous as well as all his other goodies…he said it was a “10”.
A view from our table and what we were looking at. Very nice atmosphere.
A few more pictures, the huge bar area and this cute display with wine at the entrance.
I have been to Dangerfield’s only a few times but this was by far the best experience yet. My parents love it there and go quite often. I highly recommend it and hope you will check it out! Ask for Brandi!
