Deliciously Tender, Teriyaki Chicken with Papaya-Mango Relish

MY OVERALL RATING: 10 FOOD: 10 SERVICE: 10 AMBIENCE INSIDE SEATING: 9

My husband and I visited The “Fish Hopper”  on May 2, 2018.  We were SO happy with our entire experience!

So, as the story goes…we had intended to eat at another ocean from restaurant down a few blocks but when we got there the ambience was less than inviting, the air conditioning was not working and the bartender was less than friendly so we walked back to a place we had seen on our way down.  There was a gal out front who was very friendly and promoting people to come inside or perhaps she was the hostess, either way it worked and we walked up the short staircase to the busy restaurant. The minute we sat down I felt such a relief because our waiter actually cared about us.  He was so, so wonderful and completely made our whole night.  His name was KRIS.

Our waiter, Kris, loved his job and went out of his way to let us know that.  He was kind, helpful and attentive.  He felt like a friend. We told him of our bad experience at the other place and he was quick to make it all right.

The food was presented beautifully and tasted great.  I had the Ali’i Skewers which were Beef Tenderloin and Shrimp served with Rice and Sautéed Local Organic Vegetables topped with Teriyaki Sauce.   Tender, beautifully presented and so fresh.  I also loved the Edible Flowers beautifully placed on both plates.  Both dishes were wonderful and we were so pleased we had left the other place and came to The Fish Hopper.

I highly recommend The”Fish Hopper” and we will definitely be back next year when we are on the island again.  *I wish I had taken pictures of the outside of the restaurant from street view and the outdoor dining.  Next time we will get there earlier to get more pictures, to ensure outside seating and to take in that fabulous ocean view.  I bet it would be spectacular at sunset!
